SUMMARY:Bike to the Farm Stand: A "Summer of Bike" Community Cruise
DESCRIPTION:Acequia and River Cruise! \nJoin SFCT’s Trails Program Manager\, Tim Rogers\, on a FREE Community Cruise bicycle ride celebrating “Summer of Bike” in Santa Fe. \nThis fun and easy ride down the Acequia Trail and back up the River Trail will feature a visit to Reunity Resources‘ Saturday-morning Farm Stand\, as well as a special “Insider Visit” to see the story behind a well-known mural on the River Trail. \nMeet at Railyard Park Community Room\, 10 am.  Participants who wish to join the ride en route can wait for us at the back of Ashbaugh Park\, which we will pass through around 10:15-20. \nIncludes riding mostly on paved trails and the mellow roads that connect them – about 10.5 miles.  We will do one or two short dirt patches that are optional\, and short enough to walk. \nOptions will be presented on how to add on more River Trail\, if desired\, and participants may leave the ride at any point once we have arrived at the Farm Stand and start to head back up the river. \nSpecial Mural Visit! \nThe return trip up the River Trail will feature unprecedented Insider Visit to more murals behind Joerael Numina’s “Onate’s Foot” (above) !   For more on the muralist\, see \n\nMeet the Artist – Sky Train\n2020-03-13 Pasatiempo\n\n*Participants will need to supply their own bicycle.

SUMMARY:South Side Community Cruise
DESCRIPTION:Join SFCT’s Trails Program Manager\, Tim Rogers\, on this FREE bicycle ride celebrating Bike Month – our first guided South Side Community Cruise in eight years.  Meet at South Side Library\, 6599 Jaguar Dr.\, at 10 am.  If you drive please look for nearby on-street parking so we don’t fill up the library lot. \nWe will explore Santa Fe’s growing network of urban trails in the southwest part of town\, including the newly-expanded Tierra Contenta Trail\, the River Trail\, and the Camino Real Trail\, and how to connect them with each other on relatively “bike-friendly” roads.  The ride will include a visit to Santa Fe Safe Routes to School Program’s “Family Bike Fiesta” at El Camino Real Academy where among other goings-on\, the PTA will be serving food and drink concessions. \nThe full ride includes approximately eight miles of riding on paved trails\, roads with bike lanes\, and some easy dirt trails.  Toward the end of the ride\, participants can opt in to the Family Bike Fiesta at ECRA\, which would mean returning by 1 pm\, or they can easily close the loop earlier to return to the South Side Liibrary by noon. \nParticipants will need to supply their own bicycle. \nOur last South Side Community Cruise was with students from The Masters Program in 2018.
