Our largest annual fundraising event, Stand Up for Nature (SUN),will take place for its 24th year on Saturday, October 4 this year. It is our annual opportunity to remember our past, celebrate our successes, and look to the future with supporters and friends. The evening, held on one of SFCT’s conservation easements, includes a cocktail hour with musical entertainment and featuring local vendors, a seated dinner catered by one of Santa Fe’s most beloved restaurants, a fundraising component including a paddle raise and live auction, and a featured speaker or performance that resonates with our mission and work as well as inspires all to “Stand Up for Nature.”
SUN was originally called the Stewart Udall Legacy Dinner, due to the former Secretary of the Interior being one of SFCT’s founders and first Board Chair and who left an inspiring conservation legacy and one we can all strive toward. As the community increasingly looks to nature for respite, health, outdoor recreation, connection and adventure, the Stand Up for Nature name was embraced in terms of giving back and protecting what is so critical to our wellbeing.
