If you are interested in working with kids and bikes, please spend part of your Saturday with Chuck Malagodi, Santa Fe Safe Routes to School Education Consultant and veteran of several decades of bicycle instruction and promotion in Albuquerque.  Chuck and partners will cover the in’s and out’s of teaching bicycling skills to children of all ages, starting with basic balance and traffic safety all the way to working on basic mountain biking moves, which we will practice in the open space alongside the Railyard Community Room.

We are working to create a sustainable Safe Routes to School program and we are encouraging local school staff, advocates, non-profit groups, and partner agencies to develop capacity to help us teach bicycle and pedestrian safety in Santa Fe schools.  There is no charge for this instruction.  Please bring lunch or be prepared to chip in for some pizza.  SFPS staff qualify for stipends.

Please let us know if you are interested!  Wear comfortable clothes to practice some mountain bike skills in and bring a helmet and mountain bike, if you have one.
