Our third field trip with Camino Real Academy Students was another bilingual group, Mr. Bass’s Fourth graders – 23 kids, five or six parents or grandparents, Mr. Bass and Miss (now Mrs.) Jones. There was some trailhead excitement right off the bat as we encountered a snake – not a dangerous one and certainly not a threat since it was no longer alive. We made it up to the rock shelf below Picacho Peak and back down in record time, leaving enough time before noon to explore The Nature Conservancy’s trail to the pond that used to be Two-Mile Reservoir. That was a bonus at the end of another fun visit to our beautiful foothill trails.
