Long range tourists from Arkansas get their kicks on Malaga St.

Join the Santa Fe Conservation Trust and members of the bicycle advocacy community for this special ride for “Bike Day at the Capitol.”  We will meet folks arriving on the Railrunner from the Albuquerque area at 10 am at South Capitol Station.  Then we will go on a local sampler of “Bike Route 66,” Adventure Cycling Association‘s 2,000-mile touring route from Chicago to L.A., featuring parts of Santa Fe’s pre-1937 alignment of historic “Route 66.”

Our eventual destination will be NM Bike N Sport, where bicyclists will gather for a procession to the Roundhouse, the location of “Bike Day” proceedings starting at 1 pm, organized by the New Mexico Motorcyclist Rights Organization with BikeABQ.  (To reserve a lunch at NM Bike N Sport courtesy of BikeABQ, please e-mail .)

BTAC On-Road Subcommittee encounters BR66 riders from California on Alta Vista St.

We will break up into at least two groups: “amblers” can get in a shorter urban cruise “on the way” to Bike and Sport, while those who would like to undertake a more significant ride of 13 or 14 miles can head out newly improved Old Santa Fe Trail in order to return on the historic Route 66 approach to Santa Fe from the southeast.

Either way, we’ll see you at South Capitol Station at 10 am first!
