Join SFCT for an eBird/ Merlin learning session designed to teach participants how to effectively use the eBird and Merlin platforms to record their bird sightings – contributing to a vast citizen science database that helps scientists understand bird populations and distribution. Participants will need a phone or tablet with the Merlin and eBird apps already downloaded.
eBird Mobile makes it easy to record the birds you see in the field, and seamlessly link these observations with eBird–a global online database of bird records used by hundreds of thousands of birders around the world. This free resource makes it easy to track what you see while making your data openly available for scientific research, education, and conservation.
Merlin Bird ID helps you identify birds you see and hear. Merlin is unlike any other bird app—it’s powered by eBird, the world’s largest database of bird sightings, sounds, and photos.
Some refreshments will be provided.
