088For October trail work days, we shifted gears to La Tierra Trails, starting on Oct. 14 with some problem sections between junctions 33, 35 and 37 and north of junction 36.  We could not solve ALL the problems, but we did find some spots where we could either move the storm water off of the trail (below), or move the trail away from the storm water (left).092

 

 

 

 

 

 

After canceling a work day due to rain on Oct. 21 (a first for me!), we returned to the area with a larger crew on Oct. 28 and worked on filling in some arroyo head-cuts that were threatening the trail south of Junction 34.  Then we crossed Camino de los Montoyas to work on a short re-route out of a gully between junctions 1 and 2.
