Getting ready to “Walk with a Doc” at SW Care Center, June 5

In the first two months of action, ¡Vámonos! Santa Fe Walks has mobilized hundreds of Santa Feans on our urban trails and parks.  Maybe we will be in the thousands by the time we complete all 42 walks from May through October!

The kick-off in May – a “Walk with a Doc” event organized by Southwest Care Center – had over 30 participants walking on the River Trail with Dr. Ken Stewart.  In the beginning of June, we had simultaneous family walk events in the Railyard Park and at La Cieneguilla Petroglyphs for “Take a Kid Hiking Day.”

In Tierra Contenta, we have walked with Community Health Workers Alondra Hernandez in May and Evelyn Rios in June, and with Mayor Alan Webber on May 22.  Walk with Councilor Roman Abeyta at 5:30 this evening for the second edition of the “Walk with a Notable Local,” starting and finishing at Plaza Contenta on Jaguar Dr.
