In September and October, we turned our attention to the City’s Dorothy Stewart Trail and Santa Fe National Forest’s Atalaya Trail, for which we recently renewed our adoption. Although we hadn’t worked on either for several years, these trails were in relatively good shape thanks to work by other, “informal” community volunteers over the years. We still found opportunities to de-berm and enhance or create new “grade reversals” to re-route storm drainage off of the trail – in the “unlikely” event of rain!
