Santa Fe-area schools that celebrated “National Bike to School Day” on May 9 included Carlos Gilbert Elementary School, Nina Otero Community School, San Ildefonso Day School, and Santa Fe Community College.  Unlike last year’s event, there was no centralized gathering but rather a variety of smaller groups of students and faculty on bicycles focused on particular schools as destinations.

Faculty and students from SFCC and ATC meet up at the trailhead for the Rail Trail off of Rabbit Rd.

One convoy that was joined by SFCT’s Trails Program Manager headed south to SFCC and the Academy for Technology and the Classics (ATC) via the Rail Trail and the Spur Trail.  Maybe next year we can add more schools to the mix!
